Let’s face it: advertising is everywhere. And the internet has made it more everywhere. (Is “everywhere-er” a word?) It seems like everyone has a website with some form of advertising in the margins (or even smack dab in the center, or in every patch of white space on the screen). And it makes sense. Posting a few of these ads on one’s page might earn them a few bucks here and there. And more ads equal more money, right? What’s not to like?
Well, after a while, I find it gets overwhelming. When every square inch of space is covered with ads, I tend to tune out. I not only ignore the ads but the content as well. I’m OK with a few ads here and there, but too many make me turn away. (And I’m not just referring to the internet. I no longer have a cable hook-up to my T.V. because there’s too much advertising during the shows I watch. I hate that!)
And if I feel this way towards ad-infested sites, I have to expect that others will feel the same way. So with this blog and my other two (www.flexibleplanetblog.com and www.polyglotsanonymous.com) as well as most other blogs I might come up with in the foreseeable future, I’m going to refrain from the usual method of banner ads and text-based ads. So you’ll notice these blogs might have a little more white space in the margins. I hope that pleases you.
(If for some reason you’d like to see some ads on these blogs, let me know and maybe I’ll revisit the idea if enough people chime in.)
Now I should mention that these blogs won’t be entirely without a chance for me to make a little money. Most things I recommend on these blogs will link to a site where you can click to buy the item. (In fact, even the items I don’t recommend will come with a link as well.) Why? Well, if you’re going to buy something, especially based on my recommendation, why shouldn’t I make a small commission on that? The best part is that it won’t affect the price you pay. And the links will be unobtrusive and relevant to the content. And the vendors are ones I’ve dealt with and can also recommend.
Oh, and did I mention that I’m not being paid or otherwise compensated for positive reviews? Everything I review is for the benefit of the sites, and I do not provide positive reviews for any type of compensation. (Once my blogs take off, I’ll be open to receiving books and other items for review, but that will still not guarantee a positive review.)
Anyway, I hope that the omission of random ads makes this blog and the others more enjoyable for you. Feel free to leave a comment if you have something to say on the matter. I look forward to your feedback.

P.S. So what will happen to all the ads I don’t put in these blogs? I’ll get to that shortly…

I think that to receive the home loans from creditors you should have a firm motivation. Nevertheless, once I've received a short term loan, just because I was willing to buy a bike.
